the feast!
after dinner horseshoes
naps under the table after the feasting...no, that wasn't Rob's cup. =)
I know it's Musical Monday, but I'm breaking my streak since I have lots to share this week. We'll see if I get enough blogging time to share it all.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun this year. It was at mom and dad's house and there were plenty of people. We started off our day at home with breakfast and then got dressed and watched the Thanksgiving Day parade. Norah took a snooze during the parade. I started peeling apples and potatoes for the pie and mashed potatoes. I didn't make a homemade pie crust like I usually do. I've tried the Pillsbury pie crusts and they are so much less mess that I went that route this year. Anyway, we got dressed and headed off to Mom and Dad's around 1:30. Watched football, went fishing, played horseshoes, ate some amazing food, the kids did some crafts and we headed home. What a blessed day!
For the potatoes, that is, Kelli's Killer Mashed Potatoes:
one 5 lb. bag of red potatoes (they are creamier!) I keep the skins on.
1/2 cup chicken stock
1 stick of butter
8 ozs. sour cream
4 ozs. cream cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
you can add heavy cream or milk to get them creamier if you like, but I don't usually need this.
Boil potatoes til tender. Drain. Add ingridients and mix well with beaters. Wha la! Kelli's Killer Mashed Potatoes.

Those potatoes sound SO good. I can see where you get the name. Glad you had a great holiday.
Sounds like a good day! I can't believe you make your own pie crusts! And, is that some sparkling grape juice I see on the table?? I LOVE that stuff, but didn't get any this year because I thought I would be the only one drinking it.
