Homeschool Group's Thanksgiving Feast

the food
our indians...

two pilgrims, one indian and one boy who refused to wear any type of costume =)
Our homeschool group did a Thanksgiving feast last week. We made all the trimmings and the kids had fun playing pilgrims and indians. We made a fire and ate outside to get the full effect of the first Thanksgiving. It was pretty nice out and after reading a book about the first Thanksgiving, going around and saying what we were thankful for, we all dug into our delicious food and enjoyed each other's company. I'm also happy to say that I made a last minute pilgrim costume for Avonlea out of two pillow cases from our linen closet. A dark blue one for the skirt (I just cut a hole in the top and safety pinned it) and a white one for the bonnet and apron. She had the white shirt. Not bad if I do say so myself.
