Good guesses friends, but the correct answer is...
Slimy, sticky WORMS (red wigglers to be exact)!!! I made a vermiculture bin yesterday right after they arrived. I have to admit, I didn't think they'd arrive so quickly (I think it was around 2 days). Anyway, I followed The Garden Girl's directions on how to build the vermiculture bin and it was easy and FREE. Now, I won't have to continue ordering worms through the mail IF I can keep them happy and breeding in my bin. Then, they can be added to my compost pile out back and transferred to the garden. What a great thing...nautural fertilizer.
