A Princess Party...Avonlea Turns FIVE!

I have to laugh because my 'tom-boy' daughter wanted a princess party this year and what a party is was! We kept it small and quaint, 5 beautiful princesses and some sweet grandmothers and grandfathers. The girls really had a fun time and Avonlea was so blessed on her special day.

In the schoolroom, eating a snack and getting ready to read a princess story.

We made a craft...princess crowns of coarse. :)

Lincoln was the only boy, so he made a prince crown.

"E" giving a swing at the pinata

"M" was a little hesitant, but all the other princesses encouraged her to try and she loved it.

Avonlea received some wonderful gifts from family and friends. Her favorite though was a princess Rapunzel dress, shoes and hair from her grandparents.

Norah was particuarly taken with the Rapunzel hair and still wears it on a daily basis.

Of coarse, I had to participate in the fun as well. I'm wearing my princess crown, but my boa wasn't on at this particular moment.

The main point we tried to convey with our princess party was the fact that a TRUE princess is loyal, kind, giving, honest, joyful, peaceful and has a heart for Jesus. We chose the verse from Proverbs 31:10 that says...
"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."
Avonlea has it memorized and after a week or so of studying it, I can honestly say that she understands it.
sisters :)

It was a BLESSEd day and thanks to the family and friends who made it so special.
