Letter "Q" Week

If you've been following along with us in our adventures of homeschooling, you'll know that we're focusing on the letter "Q" this week as our letter of the week. If you'd like to join us in the fun, here's some ideas as to what we'll be up to this week...

ALPHABET BOOK: We'll be cutting and gluing pictures that start with the letter "Q" into our Alphabet Book.

LETTER "Q" HUNT: We'll be going on a "Q" hunt, finding things that start with the letter "Q" to put into our box.

WORKBOOK: We'll be using our preschool workbook to practice writing the letter and doing activities with the "Q" sound.

ACTIVITIES: Q-tip painting, Q-tip Easter egg decorating with melted crayons, learning about the measurement of a quart, learning what a quarter is by playing "store", talking about queens and making a jeweled crown as well as tarts, talking about quiet sounds, possibly attempting some kind of quilt using either real felt (Avy really isn't old enough to sew yet though) or most likely using construction paper and yarn.

BOOKS:
- The Very Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle
- The Patchwork Quilt by Valerie Flournoy
- The Quilt Story by Tony Johnston and Tomie dePaola

I love your creativity with the letters. I need to try and establish something for Caleb.

I was just thinking about your "Q" week and wondered what you would come up with!
