I know that there are a lot of people out there hurting right now in many different ways, financially, emotionally, physically, etc. Well, this week the tables turned on us. Yep, our air conditioner needs to be replaced! Lately, it just seems to be one thing after another I tell ya' (washer, new fence, water heater and now this), but we're trying to keep our chins up and be grateful for the Lord's MANY blessings.
I woke up two mornings ago to find that a part of our wall was "melting" (the paint was dripping down) and there were cracks in the flooring (which is only a year old) and all along the wall. The air conditioner has been leaking water for I guess some time now and we're just now starting to see physical effects. So, now we're looking at having to put in a whole new air conditioning unit (Yikes!!! Thousands of dollars that we don't have just laying around). The worst part about it is that the guys coming over to give us estimates on fixing it have been showing us the mold growing inside it. Double Yikes!!!
As we've been pretty stressed out about this new development, I was reminded of some verses:
Psalm 112:7,8
"He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord."
Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righetous right hand."
These verses are easier said than done, but they do help in getting through times of uncertainty. Our God is ruler over all, He has always been, always will be and is today. I have to just keep reminding myself that we are a very blessed family who loves each other more than anything and it's the bindings of Jesus that keep us so tight-knit. I have a wonderful marriage, two healthy, happy kids (and a third blessing on the way), a great extended family, food on our table every day, a roof over our heads, clothes to wear, medical care and the list goes on.
I hope these verses have brought some of you blog readers comfort as I know that each family has their burdens to overcome on a daily basis. Just a reminder...don't listen to the news 24/7, don't feed into reading up on the economy on the internet all the time and let's remember who's in charge of all of this, God Himself.

Great verses Kel! I know they are easier said than done, but they are true! God will take care of us even if we can't see it in the now. We have to wake up daily trying to remember that it's about Him not us. Keep leaning on Him, I'm sending some prayers done to you!
It's funny that you posted this yesterday...Josh and I were just discussing this as we are trying to overcome our own struggles with a new baby and the big time financial adjustment that brings. Just wanted you to know that this blog reminded me of who is our creator and the ruler of all things! Hope things are going well for you, your family and little baby Bates. :)
