Our New Tire Swing

Here's some footage of our new tire swing. My friend had to get two tires replaced on her car awhile back and I asked what she was going to do with them. She said she was just going to let the tire company keep them/throw them away. So, I perked up with "Could we have one?". Of coarse, she let us have one and she even took the other for herself and this weekend past, we finally got it up. The kids love seeing how high they can go (it does go pretty high when you really push it!). It reminds me of when I was a kid at my parents' house, we had this paddle swing (shaped like a circle with the rope through the middle) and we'd set up the ladder and jump off. There was always a spotter out who could drag the ladder away after you jumped off (Duh. You'd hit it!). We even convinced my dad to make another one that swung over the small lake in our backyard. Those were good times. It's fun being a parent and finding ways to enlighten your own kids with fun memories of things like this. =)
