This would be my husband who was bitter because his wife whooped him at the Buzz Lightyear game! :)
The five of us had a fantastic time together this weekend at (yes, you guessed it...you're so smart!) Disney World. I guess I should specify that we went to TWO parks (Disney has a great deal going on for FL residents right now). We hit Animal Kingdom today (Sat.) as well. Disney World was a blast. SHORT lines, but lots of rain. I'll take it!!! Although the rain was a bit of a struggle, it was sunny all morning long and what a blessing...no lines! I think it had something to do with the fact that it was a Friday and the weather was forecasted to rain that day, so people stayed clear and went Saturday. Our plan was to go Saturday, but the kids just couldn't wait and wanted to go straight away (who can blame them?!).
Thursday morning, I was a BUSY woman...laundry, preparing food/snacks, packing, more laundry, making sure the animals were fed and had plenty of water, more laundry, etc. Rob came home early from work (I love those days...ahhhh) and we headed out after the kiddos woke up from their naps. I'm beginning to think we need to invest in a car-top carrier because with three little ones in the back (we have a third row in our SUV), there isn't much room for luggage! (I'm interested in buying a used one if anyone has one to sell.) Anyway, we checked into our hotel later that afternoon, walked around, ate the dinner I had made previously that day (crockpot...oh yeah!) and went for a swim in the pool/hot tub. We forgot to bring a movie to watch (we always bring a movie or two when there's downtime at night), so Daddy headed to Walmart and bought The Tale of Desperaux and The Land Before Time, along with some icecream for dessert. Yum.
We really enjoyed our day at Disney World. We went on a TON of rides. I think there were only a handful that we didn't go on. Even when it started to rain, we were optimistic and had a blast splashing in puddles and continuing the rides after most of the crowd had left.
We definately crashed that evening and this morning, we woke up refreshed for Animal Kingdom, all but Lincoln that is. Our sweet boy woke up with a very high fever and even with Tylenol, he had a rough morning. We decided to go ahead with our day and we just made sure to pack comfort items for the Linkster, Tylenol, lots of water and diluted juice (I always dilute my kids' juice and they still haven't figured it out). We were doing okay until Lincoln started halucinating in the park. Then, it was time to leave. We were so proud of Avonlea for taking the news well that we had to leave early. She was really bummed, but still maintained self control. Daddy and Avy actually went on a date tonight (Lincoln and Norah went to bed EARLY). She's been wanting some one-on-one with him (this is something we always strive to make time for with each child), so tonight was perfect.
So, now I'm blogging and getting ready to throw in some laundry and do dishes. Our sweet friends came over while we were gone to feed our baby chicks/hens and I'm sure, gave Riley some lovin'. (heart)
Praying for Lincoln that he gets some rest tonight. Praying for the rest of us, that we get rest tonight. :) What a blessing it was to spend time together this weekend as a family.
