I love to read. I love even more to RE-READ. This is on my list of re-reads. :) If you've never read a good book on REALITY DISCIPLINE, this is a good one. I'm a big fan of reality discipline. "If you don't do this, then this will happen." Say it once. No warnings. No counting to 10. Just do as I say. One thing I like about Dr. Kevin Leman is that besides the fact that he's halarious (he's the baby of his family), he's friends with Josh McDowell and the two men have very similar perspectives on discipline... Rules without relationship, lead to rebellion.
Anyway, enjoy this little clip. :)

This is very similar to what I read in Dr Sears' "Creative Parenting." The passage I'm thinking about is about a kid who plays outside and mom says "come inside now!" And she says that 15 times. He recommends that when you tell them to "come inside NOW" you actually mean now. If they don't listen then you pick them up and bring them inside.
As for breakfast, my rule is that you can eat it now or later. I'd give my son the oatmeal reheated at lunch time or snack time :)
This sounds like a good book. I'll have to keep it in mind for when I'm done the books that I already have. It's about setting boundaries and then teaching kids the consequences when they bypass those boundaries. I like it :)
