Hurricane Season Checklist

Fellow Floridians (and others along the coast)...I don't have to remind you that hurricane season will be here before we know it (June 1-November 30). With so many natural disasters happening the past few years (hello earthquakes!), you bet I'll be double-checking our hurricane supplies for this year. We have three months until the season is 'official'. Just remember that everyone will be rushing to get items at the last minute, so start collecting now.

HERE is a great link for a well-thought out list. I use this list every year and I'll admit that the first year, we did spend more $ since we didn't have some of the things on the list. Now, I just double check the little things, make sure flashlights and such are still working, and add water and food. Don't forget to double check your flood insurance information! Some things I like to do is to make sure I always have a full tank of gas in my car. I top it off every few days or so, even if I don't need a full tank. We bought a waterproof and fireproof safe last year to keep our birth certificates, passports and other important information in also.
