Often, we as moms like to discuss. We discuss many topics, especially about our children, our marriages, our faith, the way we run our homes, the way we eat, etc., etc., etc. I love discussions!
I think it's a neat way of learning about each other. We can learn different ways of doing things that we might not have thought about. I know that I learn so many things just by hopping on someone else's blog and seeing what their family does. When I first started teaching middle school, my mentor at the time had told me that all good teachers steal and share ideas. That's what makes us great teachers! I think that's what is so great about being moms/friends. We steal and share ideas and that's what makes us great! So today, I'm sharing an idea, or rather an article, that a fellow blogger wrote. She's definately a talented writer and I thought you might enjoy reading it.
This mother of 4 (and soon to be 5 in July!), Jess, has written a neat article about why she homeschools her children. To make the choice to homeschool is not always the popular choice. I love how Terri Maxwell puts it in her book Homeschooling With a Meek and Quiet Spirit..."I think homeschooling moms are a wonderful group of women! I am most pleased to be numbered among you. There isn't a more determined, dedicated set of women in the entire world! You have chosen an unpopular, difficult path that comes with little outside encouragement. Yet, you have set your face on obedience to the Lord and what you know is best for your children-no matter what it costs you personally!"
Anyway, HERE is the article if you'd like to read it. I thought it was neat. I know I have the same feelings and opinions almost to the "T", but she has a much better way of wording it than I do. :) I also have to admit that I never thought I'd be a homeschooling mother. I also never thought I'd have more than two children. I also never thought I'd be a stay-at-home mother. Funny how things change. :)
Oh, and...
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYONE!!!
