I have to give props to a fellow blogger. She probably doesn't even know I exist or check her blog, but I read it frequently and thought "Wow!" today. I think that we, as mothers, can get down at times with thinking, "Am I really contributing to our world?" OR "Is this what I'm supposed to be doing right here, right now?" Don't get me wrong. I LOVE being home with my kids, but every once and awhile, I get ancy (spelling?). I get ancy to travel with my husband (alone), take up a new class like photography or cooking, try a new hobby, support a great cause, serve more in ministry both here and abroad (still never been on a missions trip, but can't wait for my first!), etc., etc., etc. I think I posted once before awhile back on this issue and my mother-in-law gave me some good advice that I am doing what I'm doing right here, right now for a purpose and that God would honor that. In my heart, I know this. There are just days when I look into the future and dream about doing missions work in Mexico or working for an overseas adoption agency, helping place orphaned children with families. I think my mind can get lost in things like this, but all in all, I am reminded that the Lord has me doing what I am doing now for a reason and there is a time for everything. I was reminded of this once again today by THIS BLOGGER. Be sure to swing by and check out her blog. She's definately a lady I'd love to meet one day.
So, just remember fellow moms. We are doing what we are supposed to be doing and storing up our treasures in heaven. Whether it be one more dirty diaper that needs changing, a lesson in kindness between siblings that needs seeing-to, or just giving our husbands a listening ear at the end of a long day, our work will be honored. When you feel "down" at times, remember to give God the glory and you may just have an automatic attitude change. =)
