Do you ever have a day like this?...
Wake up to your sweet, loving children. Ahh, another day to spend hugging, learning, growing, snuggling, playing and enjoying my children. Next up, MESSY diaper change and wipe of a runny nose, oops, got on your pajamas. Change clothes. Fix breakfast. Breakfast is going well. Praying that the milk from the cereal you just fixed for your almost-two-year-old doesn't wind up on your freshly mopped floors. Milk is spilled and dog is currently licking it up. You go to get a rag and come back to your two-year-old joining the dog in licking it up. Wipe down child. Wipe down dog, since the milk from the table is dripping on the dog's fur (whom your husband just washed 2 days ago). Wipe down table. Shoo kids into their rooms to play while you mop up milk and cereal. Help kids with their chores, get dressed, do your chores while they play or watch a show. Find an old sippy cup under the couch which is currently growing something so yucky you'd rather not clean...toss cup. Toss in laundry. Check to do list. Hear older child yelling, "Mommy, come quick. Lincoln is making a mess." (sigh) Rush in to find that Lincoln has spilled my bedtime water from the night before all over the night table and my side of the bed. (He loves to pour things into other things.) Strip down bed, wipe down night table and dab up carpet. Glass goes to sink. You continue to do chores, unload dishwasher, but stop because you hear splashing and teeth have already been brushed and no one should be taking a bath. Lincoln has his trucks in line for a "car wash" in the dog's water bowl. Water is all over the floor. Wipe down trucks. Wipe down child. Wipe down wet floors. Escort child out and get him interested in something else. Go on an outing. Child wants juice and a snack while in the car. You whip out the Goldfish crackers and juice boxes. Hand them back to the carseats and watch in the rearview mirror as juice is squeezed too hard and winds up all over child's shirt. Not to mention he has spilled Goldfish crackers all in his carseat and on the floor. He says, "Mommy, mess!" You get to your destination and change his shirt, sweep out the Goldfish crackers in hope that a squirrel or bird will eat them in the parking lot you just "littered". Enjoy every minute at the park, watching your children play hide-n-seek, feed the birds, swing and enjoy being a kid. Head home. Fix lunch. Left lunch to use the restroom. Come back to find your children have decided to "help" you in fixing lunch...peanut butter and jelly is all over the counter, floor, their shirts, etc. You don't scold because they are "helping". "Thanks for your help guys. Let's go sit down for lunch." No spills...whew. Wipe down table, sticky fingers and faces. Put away food. Change another diaper. Read a few books. Kisses and hugs for naptime. Naptime...ahh. Clean up some miscellaneous toys laying around. Do afternoon chores. Get in some quiet time with the Lord thanking him for the children that make the messes, just not the messes. =) Kids wake up and want to go outside. Play hard outside and get VERY dirty and wet while painting, blowing bubbles, riding bikes, petting the bunny, playing with puppies, watching nature, swimming, watering the garden, planting in the garden and running. Get chidren inside while trying hard not to track in dirt/mud. Kids get in bath and splash away. Feel guilty about scolding them for the water on the floor because they're just having fun. Fix dinner. Dog sneaks around counter and steals some. Lands on floor. Clean floor (again). Husband home. Kiss husband. Talk about our day. Eat dinner as a family. Clean up after dinner. Wipe down table. Wipe down children. Do dishes. PJs on. Playtime with Daddy. Teeth brushed. Books read. Prayers said. Kisses and hugs. Songs sung and say "goodnight". Thank the Lord for another blessed day I was able to spend with my children.
2 Corinthians 12:9
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Phew Kelli, I thought that it was Lincoln covered in PB! It's not is it!? That child doesn't have hair.
Believe me I have days like that, well, maybe not quite as bad :). Sounds like you handle it all with grace and style!!!! I would be losing my cool. Thank the Lord for children...it keeps us humble!!!
Posts like these are my favs! I hate those juice boxes, they are always disasterous. I am totally with you on this type of day, girlie. But we know that at the end of the day we wouldn't want it any other way! Andi
LOL Kelli! Sounds like me on somedays. Caleb gets my night cup of water all the time! Water all over the bed. I have found that sippy cup before that has grown another species and just tossed it. And I have purchased juice box holders because of the many times it's been squeezed a little too hard. What would be do without them...I thank God daily!
I'm exhausted just reading that post!
